The xFlint Junior Generals and the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but xFlint made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Mark McGee at 7:03 of the second period.

Brett Leppek was all over the ice for the Junior Generals, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Leppek scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:12 into the first period to make the score 2-1 xFlint. xFlint had gotten the advantage when Cleveland's Mike Palasics was sent off for checking from behind. Cleveland earned a power play opportunity when Leppek was put in the box for checking from behind. Jared Johnson picked up the assist.
