The Twin City Steel beat the Breezy Point North Stars, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Joonas Huovinen provided Twin City with the game-winning tally when he scored 7:08 into the the first period.Jackson Germaine frustrated Breezy Point's offense all game, and stopped 28 shots en route to a shutout. Germaine certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.62 entering the contest. The Steel's penalty kill excelled, as Twin City gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Steel stifled the North Stars' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Isaac Hale also scored for Twin City. In addition, Twin City received assists from Jace Childs, who had one. Breezy Point put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Twin City to score on any of its three power plays. The North Stars' offense operated below they season average. Breezy Point averages 2.4 goals per game. The Steel incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Joey Bergquist made 21 saves for the North Stars on 23 shots. Breezy Point incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
