Gronseth leads Alexandria, offense over Minnesota, 5-1

The Alexandria Blizzard capitalized on the deft passing of Bo Gronseth, who garnered four assists to take down the Minnesota Flying Aces, 5-1.

Gronseth was a peerless playmaker for Alexandria, as he dished out four to beat Minnesota,.

The Blizzard pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes.

Alexandria excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Blizzard kept the Flying Aces' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mike Stumpf made 47 saves on 52 shots.

Alexandria additionally got points from Garrett Skinner, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Alexandria also had goals scored by Tom Schmidt, Mick Dhein, Ethan Luck, and Joe Anderson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Andreas Bender, Ian Ecklund, Zach Kihle, and Aammir Freese, who contributed one a piece.

Minnesota put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alexandria to score on any of its four power plays.

The Flying Aces were led by Jack Anderholm, who scored the team's only goal. Anderholm scored 4:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria.

Evan Bisek rejected 28 shots on goal for the Blizzard. Alexandria ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Levi Erickson was ejected from the game. Minnesota ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
