Tarvis' goals lift Wisconsin to 7-4 victory over Breezy Point

Behind a great game by Tim Tarvis, who had four goals, the Wisconsin Whalers defeated the Breezy Point North Stars, 7-4.

Tarvis got on the scoresheet 17:29 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:37 into the second, at 4:07 into the second, and at 6:40 into the second.

Wisconsin forced Breezy Point goalie Troy Pierce to work between the pipes, taking 60 shots. The Whalers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Wisconsin averages 3.8 goals per contest.

Wisconsin additionally got points from Zack Johnson, who also tallied one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Wisconsin included Jon Skarlis and Adam Alcott, who scored one goal each. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Ryan Martin, who had three and Mitch Riese, Kevin Stone, and Easton Halbert, who contributed one a piece.

The Whalers were unable to stop the North Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and Breezy Point eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The North Stars got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Breezy Point was helped by Russel Barone, who finished with one goal. Barone scored 16:30 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Breezy Point. Breezy Point also had goals scored by Jon Plaszcz, Mitch Pierson, and Kyle Eberwein, who each put in one. More assists for Breezy Point came via Isak Larson and Blake Neumann, who each chipped in one.

Michal Marcinek rejected 29 shots on goal for Wisconsin. The Whalers totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Wisconsin ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Martin was ejected from the game. Pierce recorded 53 saves for the North Stars. Breezy Point incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
