Topeka holds on for 3-2 win against Dallas

The Topeka Capitals survived a determined comeback attempt by the Dallas Jr. Stars on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Niko Greco put Topeka up 3-1 in the third period, but Dallas pulled to within one on Tommy Stock's tally 13:24 into the third period.

The Capitals got the win on the strength of a great game by Jaydn Munnelly, who had one goal and two assists. Munnelly scored 2:24 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Topeka. Greco picked up the assist.

Topeka's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Dallas power plays.

Topeka additionally got points from Greco, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Georgy Ostapchuk, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Topeka came via Nick Manney, who had two.

The Jr. Stars stifled the Capitals' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dallas' offense rang up 37 shots on Topeka's net.

Dallas also got a goal from Brandon Salisbury as well. In addition, Dallas received assists from Rutger Kesling, who had one.

Jude Hull recorded 35 saves for the Capitals. Topeka incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Jr. Stars' Chris Mallon stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Dallas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
