The Topeka Capitals' Hardijis Kupaks scored 2:09 into overtime to beat the Dallas Jr. Stars, 4-3 (OT). Kupaks was all over the ice for Topeka, as he had two goals in the win. The Capitals pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 45 penalty minutes. Others who scored for Topeka included Joe Stoneburner and Georgy Ostapchuk, who each put in one. More assists for Topeka came via Nick Rizzo, who had one and Nick Manney, who had three. Dallas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Topeka power plays. Topeka was unable to stop the Jr. Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and Dallas eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Jr. Stars were led by Maxim Ledyankin, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Ledyankin scored 15:59 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Stephen Smith picked up the assist. Dallas also had goals scored by Tommy Stock and Alex MacInnis, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Chris Mallon and Raurie Petrich, who each chipped in one. Jude Hull rejected 33 shots on goal for the Capitals. Mallon recorded 25 saves for Dallas. The Jr. Stars totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play.
