Pittsburgh downs Sugar Land in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Pittsburgh Vengeance pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Sugar Land Imperials on a clutch goal by Lukas Friberger.

Pittsburgh stifled Sugar Land's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vengeance kept the Imperials' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Douglas made 32 saves on 37 shots.

Pittsburgh additionally got points from Thomas Leistner, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Pittsburgh also had goals scored by Cody Black, Tom Diffendal, and Joseph Randazzo, who each put in one. More assists for Pittsburgh came via Nicholas Santiago, who had one.

Sugar Land was led by Yves Bader, who finished with two goals and one assist. Bader scored the first of his two goals at 57 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pittsburgh. Bader's next tally made the score 2-2 with 15:01 left in the second period. Others who scored for Sugar Land included Luke Simon and Trey Gardner, who scored one goal each. In addition, Sugar Land received assists from Cole Sharrah, who had one.

Tyler Geloneck recorded 17 saves for Pittsburgh. The Vengeance incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Imperials incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
