Metro falls to Twin City after surprising comeback

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Twin City Steel battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Metro Jets.

Twin City never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Steel trailed 3-1 after a goal by Metro's Cody Jones at 17:15 in the second period. Twin City knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Tyler Lodin at 3:40 in the third period. The Steel got the game winner at 14:51 in the third period on a goal by Lodin.

Calvin Miska had two goals to lead Twin City to victory.

The Steel was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Twin City additionally got points from Mathias Ahman, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Twin City were Isaac Hale, who had one, Alexander Konnov, who had two, and Jace Childs, who had four.

The Jets kept Twin City's goalie busy throughout the game, and Thomas Terrance made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Metro was helped by Kyle Downey, who racked up one goal. Downey scored short handed 8:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. A tripping call on Alex Holm put the Jets on the penalty kill. Metro also got a goal from Cooper McLean as well. In addition, Metro received assists from Brad Hepler and Zach Mac Kay, who each chipped in one.

The Steel incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Davide Mantovani recorded 24 saves for Metro. The Jets incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
