Huge game by McGee boosts Flint over Sugar Land, 9-1Romeoville Rink 1 Sun, Nov 24, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Flint Junior Generals' Mark McGee had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 9-1 win over the Sugar Land Imperials. McGee's tallies came at 15:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Flint and on the power play 14:42 into the third to make the score 8-1 Flint.Flint forced Sugar Land goalie Colton Anderson to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The Junior Generals found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Flint has scored at the pace of 5.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Flint also got points from Reno de Hondt, who also registered two goals and one assist and Justin Fisher, who also tallied one goal and three assists. The the Imperials penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. Sugar Land had been averaging 31.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Imperials did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Sugar Land puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The Imperials were led by Austin Givens, who scored the team's only goal. Givens scored 16:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Travis Wilson assisted on the tally.
