Bo Gronseth gave the Alexandria Blizzard a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Flint Junior Generals when he scored 49 seconds into the extra period.

Alexandria came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Blizzard fell behind 3-1 after a power play goal by Flint's Mark McGee at 14:45 in the second period. Alexandria knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Gronseth at 13:38 in the third period.

Gronseth had a great game for the Blizzard, netting two goals.

The Alexandria penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 12 minors and three majors for 69 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 36.0 minutes per game the Blizzard had been spending in the box. Alexandria's offense rang up 32 shots on the Junior Generals' net.

Alexandria additionally got points from Mick Dhein, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Alexandria also got a goal from Nate Mettenburg as well. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Ian Ecklund, Tom Schmidt, Jake Maxson, Aaron Ryback, and Drake Hunter, who each chipped in one.

Flint racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. The Junior Generals surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. The Blizzard were unable to stop Flint from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Generals eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Flint was led by Nicholas Gnagni, who finished with one goal and two assists. Gnagni scored 8:56 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Flint. Brett Leppek picked up the assist. Justin Fisher also scored for Flint. In addition, Flint received assists from Ryan Burr, who had one and Conner McGovern, who had two.

Tanner Elmore rejected 32 shots on goal for Alexandria. The Blizzard registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For Alexandria, Levi Erickson was ejected from the game. The Junior Generals' Nathan Klebe stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Flint registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. The Junior Generals ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and McGovern was ejected from the game.
