The Minnesota Flying Aces tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Dallas Jr. Stars would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Dallas made the score 4-2 on a goal by Keith Huspen at 6:32 in the third period, and Minnesota got as close as 4-3 when Jake Mullendore scored 11:06 into the third period. The Jr. Stars were sparked by Huspen, who registered one goal. Dallas' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Dallas additionally got points from Tommy Stock, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dallas included Cam Choate and Jake Gevaart, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Robert Gervino, who had three and Raurie Petrich and Corey Burns, who each chipped in one. The Jr. Stars were unable to stop the Flying Aces from sending pucks towards the net, and Minnesota eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Flying Aces had gotten the advantage when Dallas' Stephen Smith was sent off for tripping. Eric Cruickshank assisted on the tally. Martinez's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Minnesota with 1:21 left in the first period. Bradee Thompson picked up the assist. In addition, Minnesota received assists from Blake Anderson and AJ Gullickson, who contributed one a piece. Chris Mallon rejected 31 shots on goal for the Jr. Stars. Dallas incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jaxson Gosnell recorded 22 saves for Minnesota. The Flying Aces registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.
