Flint rolls over Metro, 5-1Lakeland Rink1 Sat, Nov 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Metro Jets had trouble finding ways to stop the Flint Junior Generals, which beat Jets, 5-1. Flint's Nathan Klebe was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Klebe will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.99 entering the contest. The Junior Generals pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes. Flint was led by Mark McGee, who had one goal and one assist. McGee scored 9:46 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Flint. Justin Fisher picked up the assist. Flint also got a goal from Jacob Drinkard as well. In addition, Flint received assists from Conner McGovern, Zach Koonce, and Brit Brothen, who each chipped in one. Metro forced the Junior Generals goalie Klebe to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Jets' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Metro finished with 44 penalty minutes. Flint registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For the Junior Generals, Luke Dmytro was ejected from the game. The Jets' Kameron Limburg stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Metro registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
