Pittsburgh falls to Cleveland in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks' Jared Johnson scored 34 seconds into overtime to beat the Pittsburgh Vengeance, 3-2 (OT).

Cleveland was led by Johnson, who had one goal.

In a losing effort, Pittsburgh was sparked by Joseph Randazzo, who registered two goals. Randazzo scored the first of his two goals at 19:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cleveland. Tom Diffendal provided the assist. Randazzo's next tally made the score 2-2 with 4:28 left in the third period. Gavin Cummings picked up the assist.

The Jr. Lumberjacks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Cleveland wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game.

Mike Palasics also scored for Cleveland. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Avery Huibregtse, John Michael Barlow, Eli Lynn, and Nick Balavich, who contributed one a piece.

More assists for Pittsburgh came via Nicholas Santiago, who had one.

Joseph Moza made 22 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks on 24 shots. Cleveland registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Jason Kumpfmiller rejected 17 shots on goal for the Vengeance. Pittsburgh incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
