Topeka boosted by Hull's play in net, beats Dallas 3-1

The Topeka Capitals relied on the sparkling performance of Jude Hull in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Dallas Jr. Stars.

Topeka pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 19 penalty minutes.

The Capitals were led by Georgy Ostapchuk, who registered one goal. Ostapchuk scored on the power play 13:47 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Topeka. Topeka had taken the advantage when Dallas' Corey Burns got sent off for roughing. Nick Rizzo provided the assist.

The Capitals excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Topeka forced the Jr. Stars goalie Chris Mallon to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Topeka also got points from Yu Kikosaka, who also had one goal and one assist. Nick Manney also scored for Topeka. More assists for Topeka came via Jaydn Munnelly, who had one.

Dallas did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Jr. Stars put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. Dallas' offense rang up 31 shots on the Capitals' net.

The Jr. Stars were led by Maxim Ledyankin, who scored the team's only goal. Ledyankin scored 7:20 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Keith Huspen picked up the assist.

Jude Hull made 30 saves for Topeka on 31 shots. The Capitals registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Mallon rejected 32 shots on goal for Dallas. The Jr. Stars ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
