Huge game by Haase boosts Cincinnati over Metro, 6-2

Behind a great game by Nick Haase, who had two goals and two assists, the Cincinnati Swords defeated the Metro Jets, 6-2.

Haase scored at 3:42 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Cincinnati and again while on the power play 1:00 into the third to make the score 4-2 Cincinnati.

Cincinnati's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Swords average 3.7 goals per contest. Cincinnati was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. The Swords' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Cincinnati additionally got points from Andrew Bond, who also registered one goal and two assists and Nikita Korotkov, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Devin Fracassi also scored for Cincinnati. More assists for Cincinnati came via Brenden Williams, who had two and Jessie Fracassi, Thomas Clayton, and Ryan Sete, who contributed one a piece.

Metro forced Cincinnati goalie Alec Rounds to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

The Jets were helped by Matt Dempsey, who grabbed one goal. Dempsey scored on the power play 14:34 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Metro also got a goal from Alex Holm as well. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Brad Hepler and Cody Jones, who each chipped in one.

Rounds recorded 31 saves for the Swords. Cincinnati incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Metro's starting goalie, Trevor Kalinowski, made 18 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Kameron Limburg, who stopped four shots. The Jets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
