A stellar performance between the pipes by Chris Mallon helped the Dallas Jr. Stars defeat the Topeka Capitals, 2-1.

Dallas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 23 penalty minutes.

The Jr. Stars were led by Tommy Stock, who registered one goal. Stock scored 15:24 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Dallas. Colin South picked up the assist.

Dallas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Dallas also got a goal from Alex MacInnis as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Cam Choate, Brandon Salisbury, and Alex Cyrenne, who each chipped in one.

Topeka's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Dallas power plays. The Capitals did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Topeka averages 4.4 goals per game.
