Topeka falls to Sugar Land in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Sugar Land Imperials' Yves Bader scored 3:59 into overtime to beat the Topeka Capitals, 5-4 (OT).

Sugar Land overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Imperials fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Topeka's Nick Manney at 12:56 in the second period. Sugar Land tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Avik Bordak at 7:01 in the third period.

The Imperials were paced by Bader, who had one goal.

The Sugar Land penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 12 minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The Imperials surpassed its season average of 34.0 penalty minutes per game. Sugar Land excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Imperials forced the Capitals goalie Jude Hull to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.
