Flint rips Metro, 4-0Iceland Arena Fri, Nov 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Flint Junior Generals had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Metro Jets. Flint was led by Nicholas Gnagni, who racked up one goal and one assist. Gnagni scored 3:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Flint. Zach Koonce assisted on the tally. The Junior Generals excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Flint's offense rang up 37 shots on Metro's net. Flint additionally got points from Koonce, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Trevor Benaglio, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Conor Durgan also scored for Flint. Other players who recorded assists for Flint were Conner McGovern and Brett Leppek, who contributed one a piece. The Jets' offense operated below they season average. Metro puts an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. The Junior Generals' defense shut down the Jets' forwards for much of the game, and Metro got off only 10 shots during the contest. The Jets' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Metro finished with 28 penalty minutes. Nathan Klebe made 10 saves for Flint on 10 shots. The Junior Generals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kameron Limburg recorded 33 saves for the Jets.
