The Alexandria Blizzard had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Granite City Lumberjacks.

Joe Anderson was all over the ice for Alexandria, as he grabbed four goals in the win. Anderson got on the scoresheet 15:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:56 into the second, at 18:40 into the third, and at 18:52 into the third.

The Blizzard's penalty kill excelled, as Alexandria gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Alexandria additionally got points from Ian Ecklund, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Tre Kautzman also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Zach Kihle and Nate Mettenburg, who contributed two a piece.

Granite City was held below its usual level of production. The Lumberjacks average 5.1 goals per game. The Blizzard were unable to stop Granite City from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumberjacks eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Granite City's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Lumberjacks average 2.2 goals allowed per game.

Granite City was led by Brett Love, who had one goal and one assist. Love scored on the power play 14:18 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Alexandria. The Lumberjacks earned a power play opportunity when Gavin Mindt was put in the box for head contact. Zac Sikich assisted on the tally. Granite City also got a goal from Zach Voss as well. In addition, Granite City received assists from Billy Warren, Aidan Verbeke, and Gavin Porter, who each chipped in one.

Alexandria's Evan Bisek stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Blizzard incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Scott Murray rejected 22 shots on goal for Granite City. The Lumberjacks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
