Sugar Land beats Dallas 5-3 as Bordak gets hat trick

The Dallas Jr. Stars could not stop the Sugar Land Imperials' Eligah Bordak, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win.

Bordak's first goal came 18:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 55 seconds into the second and at 3:29 into the third.

Sugar Land's offense rang up 34 shots on Dallas' net.

Sugar Land also got points from Prokofil Vladykosvoski, who also had one goal and one assist and Austin Givens, who also registered one goal and two assists. Sugar Land also got a goal from Tucker Spooner as well. In addition, Sugar Land received assists from Travis Wilson, who had one and Luke Simon, Yves Bader, and Avik Bordak, who contributed two a piece.

The Jr. Stars racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Dallas surpassed its season average of 32.0 penalty minutes per game. The defensemen of the Jr. Stars were also effective in the Imperials' zone, and came away with two goals.

Dallas was helped by Maxim Ledyankin, who registered one goal. Ledyankin scored on the power play 6:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dallas. A slashing penalty on Cole Sharrah had put the Jr. Stars on the power play. Raurie Petrich picked up the assist. Corey Burns also scored for Dallas. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Tommy Stock, who had one.

Colton Anderson made 22 saves for Sugar Land on 25 shots. The Imperials incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Steffan Muller rejected 29 shots on goal for Dallas. The Jr. Stars registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Dallas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Colin South was ejected from the game.
