The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks and the Pittsburgh Vengeance were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Cleveland made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brendan Logan at 19:44 of the third period.

Nick Balavich had two goals and one assist to lead the Jr. Lumberjacks. Balavich scored the first of his two goals at 9:46 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jared Johnson picked up the assist. Balavich's next tally made the score 3-2 Cleveland with 8:55 left in the third period. Cleveland had taken the advantage when Pittsburgh's Tyler Speis got sent off for tripping. Avery Huibregtse assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Lumberjacks' offense rang up 40 shots on the Vengeance's net.

Cleveland additionally got points from Johnson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Cleveland were Jake Maier, Anthony Strollo, and Tyler Pritt, who each chipped in one.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Pittsburgh was led by Oskar Thorsen, who racked up one goal and one assist. Thorsen scored 16:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh. Michael Straub picked up the assist. Brooks Antill also scored for Pittsburgh. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Thomas Leistner, Tom Diffendal, Gavin Cummings, and Chris McCambridge, who contributed one a piece.

Cleveland's Tyler Jansen stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jason Kumpfmiller made 36 saves for the Vengeance on 40 shots. Pittsburgh incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
