Metro survives Michigan comeback, wins 3-2

The Metro Jets survived a determined comeback attempt by the Michigan Mountain Cats on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Cooper McLean put Metro up 3-1 in the third period, but Michigan pulled to within one on Abram Prince's tally 12:42 into the third period.

The Jets' penalty kill excelled, as Metro gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Jets stifled the Mountain Cats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Metro's offense rang up 40 shots on Michigan's net.

Metro also got a goal from Zach Kopinski as well. More assists for Metro came via James Roznowski, Cody Jones, Kyle Downey, and Matt Dempsey, who contributed one a piece.

The Mountain Cats forced Jets' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 36 shots and forcing 34 saves. Trevor Kalinowski made 30 stops and Kameron Limburg made four.

Michigan also got points from Max Vance, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Michigan received assists from Guy Soulliere and Austin Buchholz, who each chipped in one.

The Jets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kevin OShea recorded 37 saves for Michigan. The Mountain Cats incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
