Bordak's big game bests Dallas in 6-3 Sugar Land win

Avik Bordak was all over the ice for the Sugar Land Imperials, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Sugar Land's 6-3 win over the Dallas Jr. Stars.

Bordak scored at 14:01 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Sugar Land and again while on the power play 19:52 into the third to make the score 6-3 Sugar Land.

The Imperials' offense rang up 42 shots on Dallas' net. Sugar Land was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. The Imperials were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of nine man advantages.

Sugar Land additionally got points from Tucker Spooner, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Joe Bordak, who also had one goal and one assist. Luke Simon also scored for Sugar Land. More assists for Sugar Land came via Eligah Bordak, who had two and Travis Wilson, Anthony Chesrow, Griffin Leach, and Chance Rickel, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Stars forced Sugar Land goalie Matt Douglas to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Dallas' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Jr. Stars finished with 46 penalty minutes.

Dallas was led by Colin South, who tallied one goal and one assist. South scored 6:35 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Tommy Stock picked up the assist. Dallas also got a goal from Keith Huspen as well. In addition, Dallas received assists from Cam Choate and Brandon Salisbury, who contributed one a piece.

Douglas recorded 39 saves for the Imperials. The Jr. Stars' Chris Mallon stopped 36 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Dallas registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
