Breezy Point outlasts Minnesota, 6-4Breezy Point Ice Arena Fri, Oct 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Breezy Point North Stars gutted out a close 6-4 win against the Minnesota Flying Aces. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ludvig Adamsen at 6:38 of the third period. Russel Barone had one goal and two assists to lead Breezy Point. Barone scored 12:21 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Breezy Point. The North Stars' offense rang up 51 shots on Minnesota's net. Breezy Point surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the North Stars average 3.1 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Billy Foy also scored for Breezy Point. In addition, Breezy Point received assists from Austin Williams, Blake Neumann, Joe Laskero, and Mitch Pierson, who each chipped in one. The Flying Aces stifled Breezy Point's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Minnesota kept the North Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Troy Pierce made 30 saves on 34 shots. The Flying Aces were helped by AJ Gullickson, who had one goal. Breezy Point incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mike Stumpf made 45 saves for Minnesota on 50 shots. The Flying Aces incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
