Cincinnati downs Battle Creek, 3-0

RJ Marshall registered one point to lead the Cincinnati Swords to a 3-0 victory over the Battle Creek Revolution.

Cincinnati's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Battle Creek power plays. The Swords' defensive play was more effective than usual against Battle Creek. Cincinnati gives up 3.0 goals on average per game. The Swords forced the Revolution goalie Tyler Babinski to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Cincinnati also got points from Andrew Bond, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Nikita Korotkov, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Cincinnati received assists from Nick Haase and Henry Smith, who contributed one a piece.

Battle Creek racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 25.0 minutes per game the Revolution had been spending in the box. Battle Creek stifled Cincinnati's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Alec Rounds made 22 saves for the Swords on 22 shots. Cincinnati totaled 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 0-for-5 on the power play. The Swords ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jessie Fracassi was ejected from the game. Babinski recorded 38 saves for the Revolution. For Battle Creek, Josh Kimber was ejected from the game.
