A hat trick by Drake Hunter was the highlight in Blizzard's 6-2 win against the Twin City Steel. Hunter's first goal came 9:26 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:43 into the first and at 1:34 into the third.The Alexandria Blizzard pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes. Alexandria's offense rang up 43 shots on Twin City's net. The Blizzard found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Alexandria averages 3.5 goals per game. Others who scored for Alexandria included Christian Canavati, who had one and Bryce Mitzel, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Levi Erickson, Mick Dhein, Gavin Mindt, Aaron Ryback, and Nate Mettenburg, who contributed one a piece and Tom Schmidt and Jody Randall, who each chipped in two. The Steel kept the Blizzard's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Elmore made 43 saves on 45 shots. Twin City was helped by Jace Childs, who finished with one goal. Childs scored 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Tanner Duffney assisted on the tally. Dylan Lincoln also scored for Twin City. In addition, Twin City received assists from Tyler Lodin and Jerod Sabaska, who contributed one a piece. Alexandria registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Thomas Terrance made 37 saves for the Steel on 43 shots. Twin City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
