Phoenix Knights holds on for 4-2 win against Colorado Eagles

Phoenix Knights survived a determined comeback attempt by Colorado Eagles on the way to a 4-2 win.

Phoenix Knights made the score 4-0 on a goal by Robert Crisci at 19:03 in the first period, and Colorado Eagles got as close as 4-2 when Levi Weber scored 13:25 into the third period.

Phoenix Knights forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. Phoenix Knights had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. Colorado Eagles was unable to stop Phoenix Knights from sending pucks towards the net, and Phoenix Knights eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Phoenix Knights was helped by Mitch Cobby, who grabbed one goal. Cobby scored 7:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Phoenix Knights. Robert Smith picked up the assist. Colorado Eagles racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. Colorado Eagles surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Colorado Eagles was held below its usual level of production. Colorado Eagles averages 4.2 goals per game. Colorado Eagles forced Phoenix Knights goalie Alex Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Tanner Ulland also scored for Colorado Eagles. In addition, Colorado Eagles received assists from RJ Haenze, Kyle Arenson, Corey Richardson, and Cody Dettmann, who each chipped in one.
