Dallas Ice Jets' Schutz deadly on offense in 5-2 win against San Diego Gulls

Behind a great game by Chris Schutz, who had two goals, Dallas Ice Jets defeated San Diego Gulls, 5-2.

Schutz found the back of the net on the power play 8:35 into the first period to make the score 2-1 San Diego Gulls and again while on the power play 10:56 into the third to make the score 4-2 Dallas Ice Jets.

Dallas Ice Jets stifled San Diego Gulls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. San Diego Gulls was unable to stop Dallas Ice Jets from sending pucks towards the net, and Dallas Ice Jets eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.

Dallas Ice Jets also got points from Bryan Siersma, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Scott Folden, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Ondrej Valo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Dallas Ice Jets came via Spencer Roth, who had one.

San Diego Gulls was helped by Kyle Rimbach, who registered one goal. Rimbach scored 14 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 San Diego Gulls. Halen Sampson assisted on the tally. Eric Baldwin also scored for San Diego Gulls. Other players who recorded assists for San Diego Gulls were Michael Leone and Drew DePalma, who contributed one a piece.

Dallas Ice Jets' Tyler Hough stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Dallas Ice Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Eric Eidessen rejected 46 shots on goal for San Diego Gulls. San Diego Gulls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
