Phoenix Knights rips New Mexico Renegades, 10-1

Phoenix Knights had a seven-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-1 win over New Mexico Renegades.

Phoenix Knights pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Phoenix Knights was led by Robert Crisci, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Crisci scored 5:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Phoenix Knights. Robert Smith provided the assist.

Phoenix Knights made New Mexico Renegades' goalies to work all game long, finishing with 76 shots and forcing 66 saves. Brendan Hanser made 22 stops and Ryan Sandrin made 44. Phoenix Knights stifled New Mexico Renegades' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Phoenix Knights bested its season scoring average. This season, Phoenix Knights averages 5.8 goals per contest. The defensemen of Phoenix Knights were also effective in New Mexico Renegades' zone, and came away with two goals.

Phoenix Knights additionally got points from Max Mahood, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Brennan Johnsson, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brynton Macnab, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Jordan Cullum, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Kelby Minshull, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Phoenix Knights also got a goal from Trent Boschman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Phoenix Knights were Colin Bresnehan, Quinn Thibeault, and David Hornak, who each chipped in one and Charlie Allen, Ryan McNeely, and Shane Fitzpatrick, who contributed two a piece.

New Mexico Renegades was led by Zach Comfort, who scored the team's only goal. Comfort scored five seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Mexico Renegades. Logan Colyer picked up the assist.

Phoenix Knights' Troy Anderson stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Phoenix Knights registered two goals on four power play opportunities. New Mexico Renegades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
