Arizona Red Hawks beats Boulder Bison 3-2 after comeback scare

Arizona Red Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by Boulder Bison on the way to a 3-2 win.

Arizona Red Hawks took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Boulder Bison storm back on a Matt Hefter goal 13:47 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Oscar Hagborg Olsson had two goals to lead Arizona Red Hawks to victory.

Arizona Red Hawks also got points from Mitch Cobby, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Arizona Red Hawks were Mattias Marten, who had one and Anton Melin, who had two.

Boulder Bison was held below its usual level of production. Boulder Bison averages 4.4 goals per game. Arizona Red Hawks was unable to stop Boulder Bison from sending pucks towards the net, and Boulder Bison eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Boulder Bison was helped by Seth Ensor, who finished with one goal. Ensor scored 13:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Arizona Red Hawks. Charles Joly assisted on the tally. Boulder Bison additionally got points from Hefter, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Boulder Bison received assists from Chris Lupinski, who had one.

Colton Pankiw made 38 saves for Arizona Red Hawks on 40 shots. Arizona Red Hawks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Colin Champine rejected 20 shots on goal for Boulder Bison. Boulder Bison totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
