Phillips' goals lift Adelaide Adrenaline to 5-1 victory over Sydney Ice Dogs

Behind a great game by Kevin Phillips, who had two goals, Adelaide Adrenaline defeated Sydney Ice Dogs, 5-1.

Phillips scored at 11:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 13:05 into the third to make the score 2-1 Adelaide Adrenaline.

Adelaide Adrenaline's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Sydney Ice Dogs power plays. The 48 shots that Adelaide Adrenaline put on net surpassed Adelaide Adrenaline's average of 3.3 shots per game this season.

Adelaide Adrenaline also got points from Sean Greer, who also registered one goal and one assist and Josef Rezek, who also had one goal and one assist. Adelaide Adrenaline also got a goal from Greg Oddy as well. In addition, Adelaide Adrenaline received assists from Wehebe Darge, who had two and Andrew Zolaterev, Matthew Hayward, and Darren Corstens, who contributed one a piece.

Sydney Ice Dogs did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Sydney Ice Dogs averages 3.8 goals per game. With 25 shots on target during the contest, Sydney Ice Dogs exceeded the 3.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Sydney Ice Dogs was led by Dave Dunwoodie, who scored the team's only goal. Dunwoodie scored 1:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sydney Ice Dogs. Todd Stephenson provided the assist.

Rick Parry rejected 24 shots on goal for Adelaide Adrenaline. Adelaide Adrenaline incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Anthony Kimlin recorded 43 saves for Sydney Ice Dogs. Sydney Ice Dogs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
