Kitchener falls to Elmira in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Brodie Whitehead gave the Elmira Sugar Kings a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Kitchener Dutchmen when he scored 1:47 into the extra period.

Elmira came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Sugar Kings fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Kitchener's Connor Cole at 18:48 in the second period. Elmira knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Whitehead at 11:54 in the third period.

Whitehead had two goals to lead the Sugar Kings to victory.

The Dutchmen were unable to stop Elmira from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sugar Kings eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Elmira additionally got points from Brad Kobryn, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Adam Campagnolo, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Elmira received assists from Mitch Wright, who had two and Rob Kohli, Zac Coulter, and Cash Seraphim, who contributed one a piece.

Kitchener's offense rang up 32 shots on Elmira's net.

Others who scored for Kitchener included Kyle Ellis and Philip Moser, who each put in one. More assists for Kitchener came via Keegan Calder, who had two and Brett Clampitt, Alex Demrovsky, Clayton Greer, and Adam Kawalec, who each chipped in one.

Jonathan Reinhart made 29 saves for the Sugar Kings on 32 shots. Elmira incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Marcus Del Conte rejected 27 shots on goal for the Dutchmen. Kitchener incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
