xChatham holds on for 5-3 win against xSarnia

The xSarnia Legionnaires tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the xChatham Maroons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

A goal by Kyle Brothers put xChatham up 5-2 in the third period, but xSarnia pulled to within two on Davis Boyer's tally 18:43 into the third period.

The Maroons stifled the Legionnaires' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. xSarnia was unable to stop xChatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

xChatham was helped by Adam Arseneault, who registered three goals and one assist. xChatham additionally got points from Brothers, who also grabbed one goal and three assists. Trevor Richardson also scored for xChatham. More assists for xChatham came via Michael Verboom, who had two and Nate Pietens, Steven Szekesy, Brayden Hopkins, and Charlie Izaguirre, who contributed one a piece.

The Legionnaires' offense rang up 39 shots on the Maroons' net.

xSarnia was led by Cody Trowell, who tallied one goal and one assist. Trowell scored 13:25 into the third period to make the score 3-2 xChatham. Curtis Crombeen provided the assist. xSarnia also got a goal from Josh Kestner as well. Other players who recorded assists for xSarnia were Nathan Mater, who had one and Ryan Vendramin, who had two.

Jacob Keogh recorded 36 saves for xChatham. The Maroons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Braden Palocz made 47 saves for the Legionnaires on 52 shots. xSarnia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
