Cambridge downs Listowel, 5-2

Matt Pinder registered one point to lead the Cambridge Winter Hawks to a 5-2 victory over the Listowel Cyclones.

Cambridge forced Listowel goalie Daniel Dekoning to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Cambridge additionally got points from Malcolm Bilton, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Adam Dauda, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Cambridge included Cameron Pentsa and Tyler Peters, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cambridge received assists from Alex Bottigoni, who had one.

The Cyclones were helped by Ben Shelley, who had one goal. Shelley scored 16:20 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Derek Elliot picked up the assist. Ted Nichol also scored for Listowel. More assists for Listowel came via Blake Nichol, Kenny Huether, and Brad Yowart, who contributed one a piece.

The Winter Hawks' Darren Huck stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Cambridge incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Daniel Dekoning made 34 saves for Listowel on 38 shots. The Cyclones incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
