xLeamington beats Lambton Shores 11-3 as Seguin gets hat trick

A hat trick by Alex Seguin was the highlight in Flyers' 11-3 win against the Lambton Shores Predators.

Seguin notched his first tally 2:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:44 into the first and at 26 seconds into the second.

Lambton Shores was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the xLeamington Flyers were able to score four times while on the power play.

xLeamington made Predators' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 44 shots and forcing 33 saves. Brett Gilmour made 16 stops and Alex Tokarewicz made 17. The Flyers bested their season scoring average. xLeamington averages 4.7 goals per game.

xLeamington also got points from Ryan Muzzin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, David Dalby, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Mitchell Amante, who also registered one goal and one assist, Chris Scott, who also had two goals and two assists, and Dylan Seguin, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Nathan Opblinger also scored for xLeamington. Other players who recorded assists for xLeamington were Jacob McGhee, Alex Friesen, Eric Henderson, and Tony Spidalieri, who each chipped in one and Cole Chevalier and Kyle Quick, who contributed two a piece.

The Predators were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes.

The Flyers' Austyn Roudebush stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. xLeamington incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lambton Shores registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
