The Thorold Blackhawks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Fort Erie Meteors on a clutch goal by Kyle Tanev.

Although Thorold was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Fort Erie kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Meteors pulled to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Braden Kavaratzis at 9:01 in the third period.

The Blackhawks' offense was sparked by Carl Greco, as he ended with four assists in a victory against Fort Erie.

Thorold forced the Meteors goalie Liam Conway to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Thorold additionally got points from Kevin Lavoie, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Thorold included Christian Difelice and Kevin Guzzo, who scored one goal each. More assists for Thorold came via Matt Pizzo, Owen Sobchak, and Francesco Gigliotti, who contributed one a piece.

Fort Erie also got a goal from Kyle Marino as well. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Jack Webb and Jared Marino, who each chipped in one and Carson Johnstone and Sam Quaranta, who contributed two a piece.

Ian Shorthouse made 27 saves for the Blackhawks on 30 shots. Thorold incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Conway rejected 42 shots on goal for Fort Erie. The Meteors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
