Huge game by Sheppard boosts Brampton over Kitchener, 7-4Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Sun, Feb 16, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brampton Bombers' Brad Sheppard had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over the Kitchener Dutchmen. Sheppard found the back of the net 4:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kitchener and again while 13:59 into the second to make the score 4-2 Brampton.Brampton kept Kitchener's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Del Conte made 30 saves on 37 shots. The Bombers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Brampton averages 2.9 goals per contest. Brampton also got points from Josh Villaflor, who also had one goal and one assist and Brandon Clelland, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Chris Maione as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Connor Andersen and Eric DiCarlo, who contributed one a piece and Ian Nichols and Francois Cote, who each chipped in two. The Dutchmen's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Kitchener is averaging 2.0 goals against for the season. The Dutchmen were led by Keli Grant, who registered one goal and one assist. Grant scored 16:42 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Brampton. Brett Clampitt provided the assist. Kitchener also had goals scored by Jesse Young, Mitchell Smith, and Alex Demrovsky, who each put in one. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Matt Guild, Philip Moser, Keegan Calder, Clayton Greer, and Adam Kawalec, who contributed one a piece. Scott Patton rejected 24 shots on goal for the Bombers. Brampton incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. For the Bombers, Brandon Stapley was ejected from the game.
