xSarnia downs xChatham, 7-4

Hunter Tyczynski tallied one point to lead the xSarnia Legionnaires to a 7-4 victory over the xChatham Maroons.

In a losing effort, xChatham was sparked by Adam Arseneault, who finished with two goals. Arseneault scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xChatham. The Maroons had gained a power play chance when Davis Boyer was whistled for high sticking. Kyle Brothers picked up the assist. Arseneault's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 19:26 left in the third period. Nate Pietens provided the assist.

xSarnia made Maroons' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 47 shots and forcing 40 saves. Brendan Johnston made 13 stops and Jacob Keogh made 27. The Legionnaires outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, xSarnia averages 4.4 goals per contest.

xSarnia additionally got points from Josh Kestner, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Ryan Vendramin, who also had one goal and one assist, Jay Clarke, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Cody Trowell, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Thomas Moxley, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, xSarnia received assists from Riley Babkirk, Nathan Mater, Jordan Fogarty, and Billy Grillo, who contributed one a piece.

xChatham put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Legionnaires to score on any of their four power plays.

xChatham also got points from Brothers, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Michael Verboom, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for xChatham came via Connor McKinnon, Charlie Izaguirre, and Mark Fratarcangelli, who each chipped in one.

Hunter Johnson made 15 saves for xSarnia on 19 shots. The Legionnaires incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Maroons incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
