xLeamington blows out xStrathroy, 6-3

The xLeamington Flyers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the xStrathroy Rockets.

xLeamington forced xStrathroy goalie Tynan Lauziere to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Flyers were led by Cale Allen, who finished with one goal and one assist. Allen scored 9:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xLeamington. Kyle Quick assisted on the tally. xLeamington additionally got points from David Dalby, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Tony Spidalieri, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for xLeamington included Alex Seguin, Mitchell Amante, and Graham Kelsey, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for xLeamington were Blaine Bechard, Eric Henderson, and Dylan Seguin, who each chipped in one and Alex Friesen and Nathan Opblinger, who contributed two a piece.

The Rockets kept xLeamington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Trevor Wheaton made 28 saves on 31 shots. xStrathroy could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Rockets were helped by Wes Baker, who had one goal. Baker scored 15:38 into the second period to make the score 4-2 xLeamington. Mike Mandarelli picked up the assist. Sam Vokes also scored for xStrathroy. In addition, xStrathroy received assists from Jordan DaSilva, Shawn Grogan, Dylan Wilson-Foote, and Dan Chapman, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For xLeamington, Daniel Robertson was ejected from the game. Tynan Lauziere made 34 saves for xStrathroy on 40 shots. The Rockets registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
