A hat trick by Bryan Komasara was the highlight in Jr. Canadians' 6-2 win against the Fort Erie Meteors.

Komasara got on the scoresheet 6:17 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:20 into the first and at 2:54 into the second.

The Welland Jr. Canadians made Fort Erie's goalies to work without much rest, ripping 50 shots and forcing 44 saves. Liam Conway made 31 stops and Matt Baker made 13. Welland's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Fort Erie power plays. The Jr. Canadians surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Welland averages 3.5 goals per game.

Welland additionally got points from Miller Hatten, who also had one goal and one assist. Welland also had goals scored by Cole McKnight and Brayden Stortz, who each put in one. More assists for Welland came via Jason Lacroix, Damien Lalonde, Gabe Ruggi, Matthew Mateljan, and Tyler Stranges, who each chipped in one and Adam Mataya, Jack Fitzgerald, and Jimmy Sheehan, who contributed two a piece.

The Meteors were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 40 penalty minutes.

Fort Erie was led by Braden Kavaratzis, who registered one goal. Kavaratzis scored 10:15 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Welland. Sam Quaranta picked up the assist. Richard DeMarco also scored for Fort Erie. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Nicolas Giancola, Carson Johnstone, and Aaron Wanat, who each chipped in one.

Jeffrey Heartwell made 19 saves for the Jr. Canadians on 21 shots. Welland incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Meteors, Austin Carroll was ejected from the game.
