A hat trick by Nick Boyer was the highlight in Rockets' 7-3 win against the xSt. Thomas Stars.

Boyer got on the scoresheet 8:30 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:06 into the second and at 7:07 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:35 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The xStrathroy Rockets forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and two majors for 34 minutes in penalty time. xStrathroy surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The Rockets stifled xSt. Thomas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. xStrathroy forced the Stars goalie Nick Dampier to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Tynan Lauziere rejected 30 shots on goal for xStrathroy. The Rockets registered two goals on four power play opportunities. For xStrathroy, Andrew Martin and Jack Van Boekel were ejected from the contest. The Stars' Dampier stopped 34 shots out of the 41 that he faced. xSt. Thomas registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
