The Thorold Blackhawks gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Fort Erie Meteors.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Owen Sobchak at 13:09 of the third period.

Thorold was sparked by Sobchak, who had one goal.

Thorold also had goals scored by Christian Difelice and Drake Hart, who scored one goal each. More assists for Thorold came via Matt Pizzo and Jason Abbott, who contributed one a piece and Carl Greco and Zach McQuade, who each chipped in two.

Fort Erie was helped by Kyle Marino, who registered one goal. Marino scored 14:48 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Thorold. Aaron Wanat provided the assist. Braden Kavaratzis also scored for Fort Erie. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Richard DeMarco, Carson Johnstone, and Sam Quaranta, who contributed one a piece.

Ian Shorthouse rejected 16 shots on goal for the Blackhawks. Thorold incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Meteors' Liam Conway stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Fort Erie incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
