Braden Hellems gave the St. Thomas Stars a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Lambton Shores Predators when he scored 3:29 into the extra period. St. Thomas overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Stars fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Lambton Shores' Austin Fetterly at 16:48 in the first period. St. Thomas tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Spencer Hutchinson at 19:07 in the third period. The Stars were paced by Hellems, who tallied one goal and one assist. St. Thomas kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Fazio made 45 saves on 49 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Stars struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 22 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays. St. Thomas additionally got points from Josh Coyle, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Matt Simsons also scored for St. Thomas. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from John Warren, who had one and Brett Van Dusen and Alex Morgan, who each chipped in two.
