xSt. Thomas rips Lambton Shores, 4-1The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Feb 01, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The xSt. Thomas Stars had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Lambton Shores Predators. Lambton Shores was stymied by xSt. Thomas netminder Nick Dampier, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Dampier certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.33 entering the contest. The Predators' power play was ineffective against the Stars' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. xSt. Thomas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Stars kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Fazio made 44 saves on 48 shots. xSt. Thomas was helped by Luc Knight, who registered one goal. Knight scored 19:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 xSt. Thomas. Spencer Hutchinson picked up the assist. xSt. Thomas also had goals scored by Josh Slegers, Alex Morgan, and John Warren, who each put in one. In addition, xSt. Thomas received assists from Lucas Triemstra, Chris Carreiro, Braden Hellems, Carson Brookshaw, Matt Tsioros, and Josh Coyle(APM), who contributed one a piece. The Predators put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Stars to score on any of their six power plays. xSt. Thomas was unable to stop Lambton Shores from sending pucks towards the net, and the Predators eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. The Stars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Lambton Shores incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
