xLeamington vanquishes xSt. Thomas in shootout, 2-1 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the xLeamington Flyers defeated the xSt. Thomas Stars in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.

xSt. Thomas was stymied by xLeamington netminder Austyn Roudebush, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Roudebush managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.07 prior to the game.

The Stars' power play was ineffective against the Flyers' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

xLeamington was held below its usual level of production. The Flyers average 4.5 goals per game. xLeamington kept xSt. Thomas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Brown made 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Flyers were led by David Dalby, who finished with one goal. Dalby scored 16:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xLeamington. Kyle Quick picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for xLeamington were Cale Allen, who had one.

The Stars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four xLeamington power plays. xSt. Thomas could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Stars put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

xSt. Thomas was led by John Warren, who scored the team's only goal. Warren scored on the power play 20:00 into the third period to make the score 1-1. A handling the puck penalty on Cole Chevalier had put the Stars on the power play. Josh Coyle(APM) provided the assist.

xLeamington incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. xSt. Thomas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
