xSarnia outlasts St. Marys, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the xSarnia Legionnaires escaped with a 4-2 victory over the St. Marys Lincolns.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Riley Roberts's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Roberts had two goals to lead xSarnia to victory.

The Legionnaires pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

St. Marys was unable to stop xSarnia from sending pucks towards the net, and the Legionnaires eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

xSarnia additionally got points from Ryan Vendramin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Cody Trowell also scored for xSarnia. More assists for xSarnia came via Jay Clarke, who had one and Davis Boyer and Nathan Mater, who contributed two a piece.

The Lincolns got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

St. Marys was led by Braydon Blight, who registered two goals. Blight scored the first of his two goals at 16:05 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mike Siddall provided the assist. Blight's next tally made the score 2-2 with 6:20 left in the third period. The Lincolns had gained a power play chance when Tyler Prong was whistled for hooking. Nico Giannantonio picked up the assist. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Max Naus, who had one.

Braden Palocz made 23 saves for xSarnia on 25 shots. The Legionnaires registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Andrew Masters recorded 36 saves for St. Marys. The Lincolns incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
