Barszcz nets hat trick, leads St. Catharines to 6-2 win over Ancaster

Tommy Barszcz lifted the St. Catharines Falcons to a 6-2 victory with a hat trick against the Ancaster Avalanche.

Barszcz's first goal came 13:47 into the second period. He then added goals at 15:22 into the second and at 18:51 into the second.

St. Catharines excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Ancaster was unable to stop the Falcons from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Catharines eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

St. Catharines also got points from Mitch Bursey, who also registered one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Cam Blakely and Mark Rodgers, who each put in one. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Kyle Woodhouse, who had two, Greg Jambrosich, who had three, and Knick Dawe, Aaron Taylor, Ryan Doucette, and Dilan Walker, who contributed one a piece.

The Avalanche were helped by Elijah Williams, who finished with one goal. Williams scored 4:50 into the third period to make the score 4-2 St. Catharines. Marcus Baird assisted on the tally. Ancaster also got a goal from Cole Nagy as well.

Dawe recorded 20 saves for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ancaster's Braydon Banitsiotis stopped 27 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Avalanche incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
