The xSarnia Legionnaires opened up a five-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 9-0 over the Lambton Shores Predators. Lambton Shores' power play was ineffective against xSarnia's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Legionnaires were led by Nathan Mater, who racked up one goal and one assist. Mater scored 19 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 xSarnia. Josh Kestner assisted on the tally. xSarnia made Predators' goalies to work in net, totaling 47 shots and forcing 38 saves. Brett Gilmour made 12 stops and Alex Tokarewicz made 26. The Legionnaires excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 10 chances. xSarnia surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Legionnaires average 4.4 goals per game. The defensemen of xSarnia were also effective in the Predators' zone, and came away with four goals. xSarnia also got points from Curtis Crombeen, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Kestner, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Ryan Vendramin, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Cody Trowell, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Hunter Tyczynski, who also tallied one goal and one assist. xSarnia also had goals scored by PJ Vandervaart and Thomas Moxley, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for xSarnia were Davis Boyer, who had two and Jay Clarke, Bobby King, Bradon Layman(apj), and Hunter Johnson, who contributed one a piece. Lambton Shores' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 13 xSarnia power plays. The Predators were held below their usual level of production. Lambton Shores puts an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. The Predators could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game. Hunter Johnson made 15 saves for the Legionnaires on 15 shots. xSarnia incurred 48 minutes in penalty time with 14 minors.
