Elmira rides Reinhart to victory over Guelph, 7-1

Jonathan Reinhart stood on his head and made 26 saves to lead the Elmira Sugar Kings to a 7-1 victory over the Guelph Hurricanes.

Elmira's penalty kill excelled, as the Sugar Kings gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Elmira was led by Brett Parsons, who grabbed one goal. Parsons scored 15:48 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Elmira.

The Sugar Kings made Guelph's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 40 shots and forcing 33 saves. Bradley Van Schubert made 25 stops and Stormer Santana made eight. Elmira stifled the Hurricanes' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sugar Kings' goal total was higher than their season average. Elmira has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. The Sugar Kings could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Elmira additionally got points from Brad Kobryn, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Adam Campagnolo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Elmira also had goals scored by Justin Cooke, Eric Palazzolo, and Cash Seraphim, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Craig Johnson, Rob Kohli, Alex Mutton, Mitch Klie, Cass Frey, and Matt Harding, who contributed one a piece and Zac Coulter and Mitch Wright, who each chipped in two.

Guelph's offense operated below it season average. The Hurricanes average 3.3 goals per game. Guelph found itself short handed often, totaling 32 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

The Hurricanes were led by Lawrence Pagnan, who scored the team's only goal. Pagnan scored 19:35 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Elmira.
