xChatham squeaks by xLondon, 4-3

The game between the xChatham Maroons and the xLondon Nationals was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end xChatham emerged with a 4-3 win.

The Maroons gained the winning advantage on a goal by Kyle Brothers 19:20 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

xChatham's offense rang up 40 shots on xLondon's net.

xChatham additionally got points from Tanner Ferguson, who also registered one goal and one assist and Adam Arseneault, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for xChatham were Steven Szekesy and Michael Verboom, who each chipped in two.

The Nationals were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. xLondon had been averaging 27.0 minutes in penalties per game.

The Nationals were led by Tristen Elie, who finished with three goals. More assists for xLondon came via Anthony Kotsvos, who had one and Matt Fuller and Paul Hopkins, who each chipped in two.

The Maroons' Jacob Keogh stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. xChatham totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 3-for-6 on the power play. The Maroons ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Oliver Blayne was ejected from the game. Jacob Riley made 36 saves for xLondon on 40 shots. The Nationals registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Team's Ryan Wells and Keaton Ratcliffe were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
